My Blog is ME

The one thing I like to feel in control of and a place of order is my blog.

Lately it hasn’t been like that.

And it saddens me.

I was just looking at the majority of the posts I’ve written since starting work and a lot of them are missing pictures. Which I don’t like. I  want my posts to be full of visualness…. because I’m a visual girl.

My son’s 1st of day of school hasn’t been blogged about ~ pictures still waiting on the memory card to be edited.

My son’s 9th birthday still hasn’t been blogged about ~ pictures still waiting on the memory card to be edited.

My kids and I went on a picnic on Friday {scary story to come with that} and I took pictures of the beauty around us for a blog post…. still not done.

I need to cut myself slack. I knew things with my life would be like this once I started working full time while being pregnant…. and now I’m going to school full time…. oh boy!

The one thing I never want to neglect is my blog. It’s my mark in this life not only for me, not only for you, but for my children as well. My words come from my heart and I want them to see that when they flip through the books I’ve had made from it.

My blog is me.

  1. Oh I hear ya Amanda. I got WAY behind on my family blog and just the other night I cracked down on it and got all my pictures from spring until now put into a book and is being printed off. I added short captions here and there, but I realized that I just wanted to get caught up with it all so I could focus and my current happenings. It’s hard to keep up with all of that.

    • Once you fall even slightly behind it just downright sucks! Good for you for getting so caught up you were able to print off the books.

I’m working on a BLURB book for my son right now for Christmas. He writes these short stories that are amazing and am having them put into a book for him for Christmas. Then after that… the blog is going into 3 different books ~ 2008, 2009 & 2010.

  2. Don’t be too hard on yourself. We all have periods when the blog is neglected. Mine lasted for a year (or so). With everything you have going on we all understand…and are waiting for the time you’ll be able to return. And for the arrival of the newest little one 😉

    • Thank you, Sarah 🙂 I think that my disappointments in it all is not blogging about the things I really need to blog about. I don’t want to print my annual blog book and realize… wow, I didn’t blog about my son’s first day of school ~ or I didn’t blog about his birthday. I do need to cut myself some slack and just make sure that I make notes of things I need to make sure make it on the blog. 🙂
