Oh, Fifty, Fifty, Fifty

*DISCLAIMER: IF YOU ARE A GRANDPARENT OF MINE YOU MIGHT AS WELL JUST SKIP THIS ENTIRE POST – I guess grandparents and any LDS readers of mine that are easily offended by the subject of SEX and bleeped out words*

I almost don’t even know where to begin with my raving about probably the BEST series I have EVER read.  The Fifty Trilogy starts with Fifty Shades of Grey, then moves into Fifty Shades Darker and is finalized (I hope this changes) to Fifty Shades Freed.

This trilogy touches an area that most people might be uncomfortable to talk about, but lucky for you I. AM. NOT.  SEX!  Controlling, dominating, insanely delicious SEX.  This story follows a very successful dominating man who wants a very pretty girl that literally stumbles into his office as a submissive…. the journey between them is a journey that you literally cannot stop – no matter how badly you want to.  The dominating sex scenes will make you blush and at times have to walk away from your book, compose yourself and then find yourself rushing back to the book for more.

I can honestly say that my life is forever changed from this series.  I look at my marriage differently, my sex life differently –ACTUALLY SEX IN GENERAL DIFFERENTLY, and I think my husband is forever changed as well…. I honestly think he’s considering reading the series to fully be on my level.

This book is not just about sex – even though the kinky fu*%ery and the vanilla deliciousness in the book is AH-MAZING – there is a story, a journey, and a character development that is by far one of the best I’ve seen yet.  You go through fifty shades of emotions, which includes emotions that you probably have never experienced before.  Every aspect of this book right up to the very last page will stay with you probably forever.

Words of Christian Grey “We aim to please”  And pleasing me is exactly what he did!

Laters, Baby!

  1. This series makes you laugh, smirk, gasp and blush (for sure) but ultimately it makes you think about the journey of love and expressing love in some of the most sweet and raunchiest ways!!! Amanda, thank you for recommending this series to me, kinda sad it’s over, but it’s one of those books I can reread forever, not only that it also gives me some ideas, lol!!! Laters, baby!! ;p

    • Oh, Cindi! I love, dear friend, that you completely understand and love this series the way I do…. did you not LOVE the way it all ended? *sigh* I was in LOVE!

  2. Oh dear…someone took the words right out of my mouth. I have never come across a series so deliciously sexy in my life. I couldn’t put the book down except, as you said, when I had a hot flash during a steamy scene and had to walk away to “cool off”. No spoilers for those that haven’t read it yet, but the ending was not at all what I expected…it was 100 times better. Christian will forever hold 50 shades of my heart.

  3. Yes, yes, YES!!! Love this series and looking forward to more from E L James. (Since you don’t like Rob Pattinson, I won’t link to my blog.) 😉

  4. This is on my “to read” list–I’ve wanted to read it for so long after so many of you ladies rave about it 🙂 To be honest, I’ve never read anything like this and maybe I’m just, well, I don’t know 🙂

    I will, though…. 🙂

    • Chelle, this was my first like this…. and honestly this series is hands down my favorite EVER. YOU HAVE TO!!!! And when you get book 1 send me a message on FB and tell me! I am so excited for you to get to live through this journey for the first time.

  5. I just LOVED your review of Fifty! I am slightly obsessed by this series and am rereading it! LOL I haven’t reread a series since Twilight! Oh and I agree, I LOVE Rob P, but he is NOT Christian Grey!!! I was so excited to hear of a rumor of a possible movie! I don’t know how Hollywood would pull that off, but I would LOVE that!!! I fell in love with Christian AND Ana! I really soaked up this series…everytime I think of Christian I feel like letting out a deep breath and saying ahhhhhh!!!! I’ve got it bad!!!! Thanks again for your review! It’s GREAT!

  6. M beloved Fifty , is been in my life since the begining, i remember waiting for the updates,i fell in love with him,the character and the author, icy, i not yet read the books, i hope next month, can buy the first one, anyway, just wanna say, that this series of books , open my eyes , i was a very prude and closed woman heheheheh,in my mind ok hehehehe, but now after Fifty i am changed and free hahahahahahaha

  7. I am not into BDSM stories, but I have to say that I really loved “Fifty Shades of Grey”. This was one of those books that keeps you glued to the pages; staying up reading into the early morning. I found it to be very addicting which is really disturbing for me.

This is the love story of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. Christian is such a complex character. You love him and hate him at the same time and it’s really confusing. He’s the ultimate alpha male, bad boy with a very dark and disturbing desire to inflict pain. He literally gets off on it. He meets and falls for Anastasia. When they meet she is an innocent college student and happens to still be a virgin. This is their love story and its deeply disturbing. Our boy Christian has some serious demons and its making Ana think long and hard about their relationship. This is not your typical boy meets girl let’s date and fall in love romance. He wants to dominate her and he wants her submissive. He comes up with a contract that he wants her to sign. She’s torn between her love for him and her fear of him. She wants to know why he is so Fifty Shades of “f’d” up. She wants to get to the bottom of what happened in his past to make him need this type of relationship and why he hates to be touched. He introduces her to the “dark side” of his sexual habits and in his desire to keep her and make her happy, tries for the “vanilla relationship” she desires. Will Ana embrace Christian’s dark side or will it be more than she can handle? The way he makes love to her is so erotic, steamy, sexy and scary all at the same time.

I know it does not sound like it, but there is a real love story there. Ana brings out feelings in Christian that he has never felt with anyone else. As crazy as it sounds, I have a lot of hope for these two and I am eager to read the next installment.

    Have a lovely day,
    Wendy
