Tackle It Tuesday…. a lovely list of things!

It’s been a while since I jumped in the {Tackle It Tuesday} clan, but I feel like I’ve tackled so much I need to share with the world!
1) I REMODELED MY OWN BLOG!!!!  I thought so many times about hiring someone, because the frustrations were just too much for me, but I DID IT!  I added graphic links under my header, borders around my posts, a Tweetmeme, a 2nd sidebar and DESIGNED MY OWN LINK BUTTONS – there’s more things little things I did here and there, and much more that I have planned, but I did it on my own… saved the buck and am satisfied with the results.

2) I FINALLY  got all of the kids’ toys out of my living room and built the cute tower lamp that has been sitting in my garage for months just dying to be displayed in my home {now to get some cute picture frames displayed on it}…. this entire corner was TOYS and now it’s clean!

3) While my friend Jenise was here visiting I tackled the most amazing thing possible for me…. EVERY, SINGLE PAPER IN MY OFFICE IS FILED AWAY!  You might be sitting there thinking, big deal… oh no, it is a BIG DEAL had I a before and after picture you’d completely understand… my brain is now uncluttered, my office area is now uncluttered, and my friend now has a new IPhone for helping me out…. win/win!!!

4)  I managed to fill a frame that has been displayed on my wall for 2 years w/the pictures that it was bought with!

So, I guess you can say I’ve tackled LOTS OF STUFF!!!  And hope to tackle much, much more!

Since I have you here, and  you are more than likely a blogger ~ you should check out {THIS POST} that I just posted and let me know your thoughts on it.  Thanks!!

Always laundry and more laundry and more laundry

It’s Tackle It Tuesday and with so much going on here, I gotta say keeping my house in one piece is enough for me! However, for today I’m just going to get a list going of the things I need to tackle this week.

  1. 2 loads of laundry/day ~ folded and put away
  2. Tackle my work to do list for the week
  3. Finish Baby Ruthie’s birth announcements

That’s it! That’s all I’m expecting out of myself this week. Wish me luck LOL

Tackle It Tuesday – Self Reflection

It’s Tackle It Tuesday ~ and I’m kinda sad. We’ve had company in and out for the past week and I feel like my world is spinning slowly out of control. I haven’t been able to tackle anything in my house, because I don’t see the point. I have so many bodies here and it makes it difficult. So, what I’ve tackled is reading. I’ve been reading the Twilight Saga and I’ve loved it. Read my review about it HERE.

I don’t take time to myself much, and I’ve actually tackled that this week. I’ve found ways with in-laws here to have them watch over my baby and I’ve found ways to reflect on things in my head, read books for enjoyment, spend time viewing other friend’s blogs and myspace profiles. I’ve worked on organizing my work ~ something that is an ongoing process and I’ve not even looked at my laundry.

So, while I haven’t tackled anything…. I’ve come to terms inside my soul with things I’ve hidden away. I’ve faced some things inside my heart that have had a veil over them. While I’m sad that I’ve finally come to terms with some things, I’m happy that I am here, breathing, with a beautiful family that loves me and a beautiful family that I love. Everyday on this earth is beautiful and I’m happy. I really, truly am happy.

Housework has not been tackled, but self reflection has.

Have you tackled something this week? Do you want some ideas on things you could tackle? Then head over to 5minutesformom.com

Next week I’m hoping to have tackled the following:

At least laundry 1/2 way done ~ before picture is not pretty see, but I will post it next week.

I’m hoping to update my BOM blog w/at least 1 entry

I actually tackled some things this week!

I’m a little late here ~ had a busy day, but wanted to chime in on Tackle It Tuesday

I didn’t take a picture of my new office, but I mentioned a couple of weeks ago how my kitchen table was overtaken by my office. I had papers and files and it was a little chaotic. Thanks to Brittney, my sister I’m just getting to know, my office area is now in my room and it ROCKS!!! It’s such a cute little area and I will get a picture of it up soon ~ maybe tomorrow. Things are filed, organized and I’m feeling on top of the world in that department.

I’ve also organized my spice/medicine cupboard. It was a little out of control, and I threw away old medicines that weren’t needed anymore and empty spices. Feels good!!!!

CABINET AFTER

Some goals that I’m going to work on tackling for next Tackle It Tuesday is:

  1. Get laundry caught up
  2. Picture frames that are lying around w/out pictures up on the wall

Simple little goals, but must be done 😉

To see what other’s have tackled you could always go over to 5minutesformom.com and get some great ideas on what you should be tackling.

What I did and what I need to do!

In my last post I talked about how it just dawned on me that it’s Tuesday. Not good. So, I’m a little late here, but it’s Tackle It Tuesday.

1. My main tackle of the week was keeping up with my laundry that I finally accomplished.

2. I went through all of Ella’s clothes and bagged up anything that didn’t fit her anymore and took it to my cousin for her to use on her baby.

It was such a busy week that’s the only major accomplishments I did.

I’m going to write out some goals that I hope to have done for next week:

1. Organize spice/medicine cupboard

2. File away all of my work that has consumed my kitchen table

3. Go through my closet and bag up clothes to take to goodwill

Those are simple and very easily be accomplished. I will have before and after pictures next Tuesday 🙂 ~ In the meantime have a very happy week!!

Baby Steps – This step was great!

I actually don’t feel like I had a very productive week. I was hoping to get the spice cupboard organized and I failed at that. However, I talked about my laundry problem last week and I’m proud to announce that I did continue with my laundry and have about 1 load left. That is by far the most shocking thing ever in my life!!!

Here’s my HUGE tackle of the week and it has nothing to do with housework. I have been talking about one of my sisters from my father that I alienate myself from. You can read about it HERE. She’s 15 and I came to the realization that she’s a really sweet girl and I should try to start a relationship with her. She’s 15 and that’s such a hard time in life and it would be great if I could be a good role model. We both have the same dad and we both didn’t grow up with him, well she kinda did. Anyways…. today I picked her up from school and we went to see a movie together. We had SO MUCH FUN!!! We saw ‘What Happens In Vegas’ and we laughed from the beginning all the way to the end.

It was such a big tackle for me and I feel good about myself for opening up to her and letting her in my life. I hope that this relationship will grow and I will soon feel like she is my sister, since technically she is.

Airing My Dirty Laundry

I’ve been lurking on this carnival for some time now, but I just didn’t have it in me to get to tackling. Well, all that’s over! Most of the times the girls post before & after pictures of what they’ve tackled. I didn’t do that this week. Next week, however, I will definitely have pictures up of the great, amazing things I accomplish! This is everything I’ve tackled………

My entire bottom of my closet was a mound of dirty clothes. I have shelving in my closet that sometimes requires me to grab a chair to reach and I actually could just walk up my mound of dirty clothes to reach what I wanted. Pathetic huh? Well, I spent all day Saturday, part of Sunday & part of today doing laundry. I think I have 4 loads left and they will be done tomorrow. The biggest accomplishment of it all is that I have folded, hung & put away every article of clothing. Socks have been matched and put away. If you are someone who knows me you know laundry is a HUGE issue with me. So, this is by far the best tackling job I’ve EVER done!

I had a huge list of things to get done for work that I have dreadfully been putting off. Today I sat down and read this quote (please go read it, it really is an inspirational quote!!) and started in on it. I didn’t get my kitchen table cleaned off like I had wanted to, but I got some extremely important things done and I’m actually looking forward to tackling more of it tomorrow.

I must thank you for stopping by and make sure that you go to www.5minutesformom.com and check out what others are tackling.
