Sadness in the Twilight Saga World

My eyes flung open this morning and I looked at the clock and cringed. 6:30am and I’m awake??? And my kids aren’t?!?! So I totally thought I’d fall right back asleep…. but then I did the math in my head. I went to bed at 9:30pm, so I got 9 hours of sleep. Here I am wide awake without children, so I grab the computer to maybe do a little bit of blogging, and sure enough Ella’s eyes fly open and she immediately notices the computer and drags herself up just to bang on it. Her eyes weren’t even fully open. What is it with children and destroying their parent’s quiet, alone time?

I heard last night that somebody leaked the partial manuscript of Stephenie Meyer’s Midnight Sun and she has now posted the first 200-something pages on her website and is not going to be finishing the book. That makes me so sad and mad. Why would someone do something like that. This series has done amazing things to my soul. I have never had a book, let alone a series effect me the way that this Saga has. The past couple of days I’ve tried really hard not to read, because I only have like 130 pages of the fourth book, and I don’t want it to end. I have enjoyed every single book, and every one has touched me in its own way. The characters that Stephenie created were beyond amazing. The love between Bella and Edward is a love that all of us girls only dream of…. I love my husband, but that type of love is literally only for the fantasy world that all of us girls live in.

I was looking forward to Midnight Sun, and a part of me doesn’t even want to read the first pages she wrote, because my heart will be saddened that there will not be an end. I could only imagine how sad Stephenie feels that someone she trusted leaked something so special.

On a happier note, I also read on her website that the movie is coming out 3 weeks early!!! Instead of 12/12/08 it’s coming out on 11/21/08. Um, YAY!!

I hope that Stephenie finishes Midnight Sun. And as I type this Ella is snuggling up to my chest. I have the most loving, snugly children… I am so thankful for them. I wonder if one day Ella will be reading the Twilight Saga and fall in love with it the way her crazy mother has.

I finally opened it

August 2nd I was at the store buying the much anticipated Breaking Dawn. Then I got scared. I had flashbacks of the first 3 books completely overtaking my life. I couldn’t put them down. I fell in love with another man (Edward Cullen in the book). Then I got scared about it ending. I’m scared to finish this book and not have another one (Until Midnight Sun comes out) to read. Tonight I sucked it all up and opened up the book.

I read the first 2 chapters and actually was able to put it down. Not because it’s not good, but because I’m so exhausted from this day that I really need to go to bed.

I bought my Wii Fit tonight. I didn’t try it out, but Gino did and it seems REALLY cool! It’s definitely going to be fun to do.

Notice none of my goals from today are checked off? Yeah, I went to go and lay down w/Ella to get her to sleep and ended up falling asleep with her. There went my afternoon. Better luck tomorrow.

The Memory Keeper’s Daughter

I finally had to jolt myself out of this Twilight obsession and start a new book. Many people seem to love The Memory Keeper’s Daughter so bought it. I started it and am enjoying it so far. I’m a little sad though that I’m moving on from Twilight ~ it’s a sick obsession. I really hope this is a good book. Stay tuned for a review when I’m done.

Twilight Saga – Eclipse

I finished Eclipse. I must admit that I’m devastated. I’m utterly devastated that I have to wait until August 2nd for Breaking Dawn to come out. I wonder how much longer after that until Midnight Sun comes out.

I think I can say that Eclipse, the 3rd book in the Twilight Saga is by far my favorite. I loved all of them, but I really loved Eclipse. I’m not going to give any spoilers, but I just have to say you definitely won’t be let down. If you have jumped on the Twilight Saga wagon I suggest you get on it quick.

I didn’t think I’d like these books and neither did any of my friends, but we all were never let down. Stephenie Myer is a genius and I look forward to any other books she has in store for us.

I opened up a book one day not expecting what was going to happen to me. Something about this book wrapped my emotions all up in a ball and threw them all over the place. I fell in love with characters and more than usual. I love books, and I always fall in love with the characters, but I’ve never been obsessed. I’ve found an obsession and it almost scares me.

The love that is between Bella Swan and Edward Cullen is unthinkable. There’s something about the way that Stephenie Meyer builds these characters up to captivate your soul that is utterly breathtaking. I can’t even begin to explain the way I have fallen in love with the Twilight series. I haven’t even finished book 3, Eclipse, yet and am almost afraid to. The fourth book Breaking Dawn doesn’t come out until August 2nd and I shutter to even imagine what I’m supposed to do after that. At least I know that I’ll have something to look forward. Stephenie Meyer is rewriting Twilight through the eyes of Edward….. simply genius.

If you are looking for a story that will literally leave you yearning for more and more then I HIGHLY suggest you start reading the Twilight series. I don’t think you’ll be let down and if you are ~ I’m shocked.

Wretched little fire ants!

Ever since we’ve moved to Oregon there’s one thing I have definitely not liked. Fire ants! Those wretched little things make outings not so enjoyable. We love to go on picnics and these pesky little buggers can ruin the whole experience.

I came across a website that can give you some great advice on how to kill fire ants. If you’ve ever been stung by a fire ant there’s treatment advice on this site as well. I love the tactic on their site on pouring boiling water into their colony to get rid of them…. how mean is that! I’ve heard it works though.

Need To Get Away?

Have you ever been in a situation where there’s an family emergency and you can’t get to where you need to go, because you don’t have the cash? Or how about that unexpected bill that popped up and you need help getting it paid. Or maybe you just can’t deal with life anymore and you NEED TO GET AWAY! Trust me, sometimes I feel like that….. actually, I get that feeling at least once a day. Vacation Loans is a website that will match you with a Payday advance loan company that will guarantee you to be approved for up to a $1,000.00, just as long as you have a job, phone number & a bank account.

So, don’t forget that the next time you’re in a bind and need a little advance, Vacation Loans can even help you buy some new pants!

Planning Our Trip to Vegas

I’m actually getting pretty serious about this trip to Las Vegas. I’ve almost got the entire trip planned. I’ve never been to the Grand Canyon, and that is a MUST do on my list. They have a Pirates of the Caribbean show that Jayden would go CRAZY over.

The only downfall to the whole trip is the heat, but there’s a Wet N’ Wild right on the strip. Jayden’s never been on a water slide before…. he’s going to LOVE IT!!!

I thought about driving, but let’s face it. I don’t want to take that long of a trip with Ella – the trip coming home from Sacramento on Easter took us 2 hours longer than usual. So I think if we go through with this trip we’ll fly and rent a car. There’s so many car rental companies, but I found one that has some awesome specials! Advantage Rent A Car is a lot cheaper than the company I used (I don’t even remember what the name of the place was) when Ella had to be admitted into the hospital in Portland. They would have saved me a lot of money! If you’re planning on a trip or need a car rental, make sure you check out Advantage Rent A Car and see if they’re in your area.

P.S. I Love You

We sat down last night to watch this movie and I had already fallen in love with these characters as I had read the book. I cried from the beginning til the end. I’ve been having issues with death as it is and I really think I shouldn’t have watched this movie. I think it all started when Robert died. I began dwelling on death. I’m scared of someone I love dieing. I’m scared to die and leave the ones I love. I can’t even fathom the idea of not having my husband next to me. He’s my best friend. When something bad happens, it’s Him I go to. When something good happens, it’s Him I go to. I never want to lose Him. I love Him.

I know that none of us make it out of this world alive. It’s all in God’s hands and I know things will get better for me in this department as my faith is grows. As my testimony grows.

As for the movie, they butchered the book. It was a wonderful movie and I really did love it, but the book is 100 times better – but isn’t that always the case?

Wednesday Letters

Wednesday Letters by Jason Wright was a very good book. After a couple dies their children find letters that their dad wrote to their mom every Wednesday of their marriage. So touching. It kept me interested to find out what the next letter was going to be about. It was sad. The whole point of the book was to learn about forgiveness and how important it is. I’m not going to give too much of this book up, but I highly recommend it. It will make you cry, smile and the end is very touching.
