Dear Blog.. I have excellent reasons

Dear Blog,

Oh hi there! Yes, I know, tumbleweeds have been rolling around these parts, but just let me tell you……

I have had an AMAZING… A-M-A-Z-I-N-G 3 days. I have gone from being pretty dang excited about an opportunity that was presented to me from a wonderful friend, to being COMPLETELY blown away, beyond excited and looking forward to a VERY successful future.

In the midst of all of the above, yes you have been quite neglected. But here I am getting to write about one of my first experiences. I had home meetings where friends & family I loved came to support me in discovering what it was that had me just so excited! I think the best part was to watch them walk in the house with the demeanor of ‘I am just here to support my friend/cousin’ and watching them leaved completely blown away and thanking ME for inviting them! I loved seeing the friends that came out to support me and I appreciate each and every single one of them.

Today I attended a training that made a lot of what I am doing “click” I realized how simple this business really is. I realized that the majority of my friends and family would much rather have their telecommunications services through me than some random stranger. I learned that this is so much easier than it sounds and that I can and will succeed at it.

Another thing that really hit home to me was that I can always have a positive mind and attitude about everything in my life.  I try to keep this demeanor about me, but sometimes a negative situation can get the best of me…. and my dear friend, Kandi told me something I already know… a little reminder didn’t hurt.  ALWAYS no matter what negative situation you are in think of 3 positive things that can come out of it.  One way I do this is when I get pulled over and get a ticket (which we all know happens often) I actually always tell myself that the cop prevented a life changing accident happening to me.  We have to do things like this… we HAVE to always stay in a positive mind frame, or negativity will overtake us.

So tomorrow I am setting a goal… I am smiling even when I don’t feel like it.  I am building my dream board, and I am working on my plan of success, because I’m honestly ready to rock!

P.S. I totally understand if you’re interested in what I’m talking about!  You can always go {HERE} or if you’re interested in ways I can SAVE YOU $$ on services that you already are using with {NO CATCH}… get in touch with me IMMEDIATELY!  Click on the contact tab at the top of the page.

Creating My Own Success Story

I have completely neglected Garibay Soup these past few days…. almost a week actually. I took some time away from my blog, twitter (not full on, but tried to keep it on the back burner) and just did things that needed to be done.

My friend Kandi contacted me regarding a business opportunity that she’s been trying to pitch to me for a while. I never have joined, or listened, because LIFE IS BUSY. I don’t have time for another thing, I don’t have time to even think… but she just happened to call me one more time on a day I really needed that call. So, I listened. I listened and had chills as she talked, excitement in my heart, because this is something I could easily do! This is something that my husband and I could do TOGETHER! I took a few days, thought, researched, read success stories, prayed and came to a conclusion… this is the answer I’ve been waiting for! Today I signed up. Today is the first day in this new journey. I will blog about, I will share the things I like, dislike and the success I KNOW I will have.

You are what you think you are, and I think I am filled with success. I think that I can do ANYTHING that my mind gets set to, and if somebody before me pulled it off, guess what… I CAN PULL IT OFF! I’m not even going to get into the amount of $$ my friend has made, because it sounds unrealistic, but the fact is it is realistic. That’s her success story though, and I can create my own where I can tell you… hey I just made $14,000.00 this month and I’m taking a trip to Italy with my family. Yes, it can happen.

I know that many people are very skeptical of any kind of Multi Level Marketing business, but my question to your right now is WHY? Why not take advantage of an amazing thing created for people where they can work right from home and make what executives that spend HOURS UPON HOURS at the office make? I’m going to step out on a limb and try this for you, for me, for my family, for my friends. I will blog about my journey, my successes and how much I think you should join in on this.

To view my new website regarding my new adventure {CLICK HERE}

Remember.. it doesn’t matter what you do. You can be successful at ANYTHING. Don’t listen to people’s negative words about the things that you feel passionate about, just listen to the positive and make YOUR own success story. The success story where you change your family’s life for generations to come.

If you’re interested in keeping tabs on what it is that I’m doing please follow me via {RSS} and {Twitter}. My success story can be your success story contact me if you’re interested in more info on my new journey.

P.S. I’m still sticking with my Wildtree, because WILDTREE ROCKS! If you haven’t tasted it yet, you’re totally missing out… check it out {HERE}

What works for me is taking rein of my life, creating my success story and being positive about EVERYTHING.  I’m accepting that there are opportunities that seem too good to be true, but they are true, because IT HAS HAPPENED FOR SOMEONE ELSE, WHY NOT LET IT HAPPEN FOR YOU?  My friend, Kandi, is a VERY close family friend who has left her executive job to find success in something so simple, so easy and I’m going to be JUST LIKE HER!  Will you?

Head over to {We are THAT Family} for more things that work for hundreds of others.

“I know God will not give me anything I can’t handle. I just wish that He didn’t trust me so much.” ~Mother Teresa

I don’t think that this life was ever intended to be easy. I know that we are here to learn and to grow, and a free, easy ride is definitely not going to help us out there. Why does it sometimes have to get downright dirty then?

There is a lot of tragedy in this world, and unimaginable things actually happen to people…. people who you wonder how in the world they do it. They do though. They get through those unimaginable life events, they move on, they grow, they learn, and sometimes they have enough strength to hug someone who is going through what they once endured and give the exact support they need.

I do tell myself often, we will get through this. We always get through everything, and we have experienced some not so fun circumstances. I think back on one of the most heart wrenching things I’ve ever had to go through and that was losing our baby girl, {Mya}. You hear of 2nd and 3rd trimester losses, but never think it will happen to you. Although it was heart wrenching, I got through it. Although I miss her, I’m still here, and have found happiness in my life regardless of the traumatic even I had to endure.  I have found reason as to why it happened…. because I really, truly believe that everything happens for a reason…. and sometimes we just have to search for that reason.  I found a rainbow at the end of my storm and that rainbow is a beautiful, precious little girl that I can’t get enough of.  If there was a Mya, there’d be no Ella.

I wish God didn’t trust me as much as he does sometimes, but the thing is he does trust me. He knows that I will find a way to learn and grow from the experiences that I have to go through, but I still sometimes wonder why. I do have enough faith, however, to know there definitely is some reason. If I stick around and try to figure it out I usually find the answer, and then try to accept it, learn from it and more importantly grow from it.

We might not like that God trusts us as much as he does, but the thing is he does trust us, and that in itself is an honor.

{Ashlee} gave me this fabulous Blog award… and it’s my first ever! Ashlee is such an amazing girl and I am so happy that Twitter brought us together… in all actuality I think Ella’s overdose is to blame, but we’ll just say Twitter 😉

The rules are to list 5 obsessions…. oh boy – are you sure you all want to know me like that?

Blackberry Storm! I can’t believe I ever just had a regular phone! Someone once told me not to get a blackberry, and I actually listened! I’m glad I finally succumbed to what I really wanted, because I LOOOOOVE IT! I feel like everything is right at my fingertips and why I think it’s better than the IPhone… because our themes rock! (Verizon doesn’t have the IPhone so I convince myself daily that the Blackberry Storm is better… and I’m starting to realize it just might be! I mean, come on I get MMS messages!)

Photo Editing! Oh I just absolutely love to take a picture and transform it into something so magical. Photography in general is an obsession of mine so I guess I can combine the two. I’m just a newbie photographer, and watching my own work get better and better with every photo shoot puts a thrill inside of me. I’m so happy that I invested in my DSLR, because I found a new passion in something that my family and other families will be able to treasure for years to come.

My Computer! My friends live inside of it. Okay… ME <------LOSER! Just kidding... not all of my friends, but I have found a lot of amazing friends on this thing. This is what I use to edit my pictures, to connect with friends and family who are far away, to write on my blog {that is in the end for my family} and to learn on. I learn new things every day online... and if I didn't have this computer that probably wouldn't be happening.

My family! I’m obsessed with them! They are so deliciously adorable I just want to eat them up! Okay, so they might all get on my nerves and drive this mama over the edge, but I love them so much and they are my #1 obsession… the reason why I do the things I do. Without them I am nothing.

Blogging! I guess this kinda goes in the computer category but I have more to add on the obsession of mine. I originally started this blog for family and friends to be in the “know” of the Garibay family… and it turned into something I never expected. I found blogs of other moms and discovered different ways to try things. I found this world of amazingness that I just HAD to be a part of. I really enjoy updating my blog with the things I feel others might gain something from, things that I feel, and things my family will want to {or not} remember about when they’re older. I love when people come to leave me comment and let me know that what I contributed to the blog world touch them in some way, and if you’re a lurker on my blog I’d love for you to feel comfy and leave a comment ~ let me know that I touch your world like I hope I do. In the end however, it doesn’t matter how many readers I have, no matter if I have hundreds or 1 I’m still going to continue with what I have to share and continue on with my inspirational carnival…. it’s my obsession and I love it and will always do it.

Now to tag 5 people with this award!!!

{Rachel @ Spangler Family} ~ Rachel, you are such an awesome person to me. I hope one day we actually get to meet IRL. You’re blog is fabulous, you inspire me quite often and you definitely deserve this award. Display it on your blog proudly, because you’re blog is FABULOUS!

{Dena @ Sugar Shop} ~ I just absolutely LOVE the content on your blog. I found your blog when I was brand spankin new to sewing and photography and felt like I found the gold mine to inspiration with the 2. You rock at what you do and I just want you to know that to me your blog is FABULOUS!!

{Bake @ 350} ~ you knew I had to throw some food up in the mix…. OH BOY your blog makes my mouth WATER. It’s beyond water…I have dreams about the the things you put on there. Girl, you’re blog is FABULOUS! Thank you so much for posting all these delicious things… you inspire me to bake and I used to not go there.

Today has been everything but motivating for me, so I am back tracking and bringing up a wonderful quote (already once posted here at Garibay Soup) that EVERY MOTHER should read. It’s short, simple, but is definitely inspiring to me and hopefully to you as well. I hope to see people link up and help to motivate this Monday for me!!

Something that we all should remember. Here’s a quote from Gordon B. Hinckley..

“Do the best you can. And remember that the greatest asset you have in this world is those children who you’ve brought into the world, and for whose nurture and care you’re responsible.”

Our homes don’t have to be perfect. The main thing that matters is that our children are getting the love, care and attention that they so deserve. They are the reason we exist.

After the day I had to day I must say I was not in the mood to write anything inspiring for anybody, because I was just downright now inspired!

We’ve all had a day where it all just started going wrong, it was like bad events had a domino effect going on. That’s how I felt today was. Now, I sit here, with sleeping babies, peace in the house and the Kardashians on my TV….. needless to say I’m happy and ready to start writing.

This week my best friend in the entire world is up in Oregon visiting from my home town Sacramento. I find our friendship so inspiring and felt like sharing it with you, here on Just a Motivating Monday.

I have always been a different person when it comes to friends. I know people have tons of them, and I only hold a small few in my hands. Once you become my friend, you will always remain my friend, and I think that’s why I am so picky choosing them.

Jenise and I have been friends since as far back as I can remember, we started our first day of school together. I have moved many, many times (that’s a whole other post I need to write about!) But through it all, Jenise has always been there. Even when we were 12 and separated we kept in contact by letters, but I always returned back to that small town Jackson, California.

Jenise has always been the one I cry to, she is always the first person I think of when I have good news, bad news, or just need a friend to be there for me….. no matter where I live. It’s hard to find the right words to express the friendship that I feel so honored to have. Not everyone is blessed to have a friendship like we have, and I couldn’t be more thankful.

I am inspired by the unconditional love that we hold for each other. I believe that we should all hold this kind of love for our best friends. Don’t let the petty stuff EVER get in the way of your friendship, because it’s never worth it. Just remember that while you might not always agree with each other, you will always love each other.

Jenise has put up with so much crap from me, and I’m so lucky that she holds this unconditional love for me, because NOTHING could ever get in the way of our friendship, and since we are so close…. we would never do anything to each other to jeopardize it.

Neener, I love you to death and I am so grateful that you are my best friend. I would move mountains for you if I could, and I will always be here…. no matter what it is that you need.

Just a Motivating Monday – Nurturing Heart

I LOVE inspiration ~ I’m sure you’ve heard me say that a million times, but I thrive on it in my life. I hope that through Garibay Soup I have inspired at least one soul. I can definitely, without a doubt say that I have been inspired by so many people through their blogs… that is why I have started this carnival.

If you’re just joining us:

-Write a blog post about ANYTHING at all that inspires you, or something you feel will inspire others.

-Please link back to Garibay Soup

This was originally posted October 5, 2008, but I love it so much I wanted to bring it back for Just a Motivating Monday!

“Each of us must direct our own lives, chart our own course and make our own decisions, and what is best for me is probably constraining for you. We too often forget the fact that what most of us need is to be nurtured, not improved. An emphasis on improvement confirms our inadequacies, while nurturing affirms who we really are and who really loves us. Too often we try to help others by seeking solutions to their problems, or giving them our plan for personal improvement when what they need is love, understanding and acceptance.

Let us remember these two things: that personal joy comes from appreciating the present and that the greatest gift we give to others is a nurturing heart.”

~Author Unknown

I think that if we all lived by what is said above that we would all be much more joyous and happier in our own personal lives.

Embracing My Years~

I turned 27 on Friday. I cannot believe that I am 27 years old. I’m almost to the point where I’m not going to be in 20’s anymore and I just can’t believe that it’s gone by this fast.

I know a lot of people, especially women, dread each birthday. They’re getting older, and they don’t want to. I’m the opposite ~ I love growing older. Every year I discover a little more of who I am inside. I can think back 5 years ago and it’s shocking to see what a different person I was. I am pleased with the person that I have become.

I worry less about things that seemed to be of so much importance back then. I treasure things I didn’t care about before. I’ve become a much better mom, a much better wife and I think I am much better person inside.

I embrace each year, because I think with each year I grow; I mature. I learn a little bit more about life, when I thought I knew it all the year before. I learn a little bit more about my husband, when I thought I knew him inside and out. I get to see what beautiful people my kids are slowly turning into. I love each year, I love my Birthday and embrace it all ~ because this is life and instead of dreading we need to be grateful and live it up to its fullest.

Every day to me is a gift, and I treasure every year granted to me just the same. I hope to see 100 and I hope that it’s all documented right here on Garibay Soup.

Here’s to another fabulous year ~ and hopefully many more. I can’t wait to see what I learn and become along the way.

Here’s my sister and me celebrating another year of my life!
I’m the one on the right if you’re just joining me here @ Garibay Soup
OH and don’t mind the quality – it was w/a camera phone 🙂

Just a Motivating Monday LAUNCH!!!

I have been anticipating this launch for a while now!! I’m really excited to bring an inspirational blog carnival to our bloggy world. I was scared that after all the hype I’ve given about this launch that we wouldn’t be able to do it due to the recent accident that happened with my daughter. It was a SCARY event and you are more than welcome to read about it {HERE}. That post in itself can be an inspiring post. It’s a post where I share with other moms how I have learned through my daughter’s accident to not fret the small stuff, because in the end it all doesn’t matter as much as the safety and health of our babies. I am happy to say we are home and Ella is doing wonderfully. So, we get to have our launch party!!

I announced last week that I am starting a new carnival called Just a Motivating Monday. Every Monday I will host this carnival where we can share inspiring words with one another and help motivate each other on the hardest day of the week to get motivated!

The people who have participated in our giveaways are offering some great things for my readers!! The best part is there is multiple winners, and multiple ways to enter. At the end up my inspiring message I will announce all of the prizes and ways to enter.

PURPOSE

Do you have a purpose? Why is it that you are doing what you’re doing? If you are living without knowing your purpose you are merely just existing and not truly living.

My purpose:

Life is definitely not meant to be easy, but I have found through my experiences that I can find the joy in most things, because I have a purpose. Sometimes being a stay at home mom, actually just being a mom, you can get frustrated and discouraged by the many things that you do repetitively throughout your day. How many times do you have to clean the living room, because your toddler’s ambition in life is to see how many times mommy can have to clean it in one day? With all of the frustrations, you have to stop and ask yourself. What is my purpose?

I am pretty focused on what my purpose is. Of course our purposes can change day to day, but for now, these points are my main purpose.

  1. Be able to stay at home with my babies, even if I am working at home – I want to be the one that’s home with them
  2. I want to be a good wife. I want my husband to be proud of who he married.
  3. I want my children to have a stable childhood, to know what’s coming in their lives and to have a secure feeling always
  4. I want my children to have morals. To know the difference between right and wrong and to carry these morals with them all throughout their lives
  5. I want my family to live in an organized, clean home – because having the opposite causes stress, and I’d prefer not to have that in our home
  6. I want my family to love God and live by the gospel of Jesus Christ
  7. I want to be a good example to everyone around me ~ especially my kids.

So, when I’m frustrated with the continuous cleaning up, or the constant whining, or the millions of questions, or the 3 hours of walking the halls at church on Sunday, I have to focus on my purpose, otherwise I might break. It’s what keeps me strong, it’s what keeps me focused and it’s one of the most important things in my life besides my family.

If you have not discovered exactly what your purpose is, you have one. Sometimes it takes sitting down, looking at the things you are doing, figuring out why you are doing them and in turn figuring out what YOUR PURPOSE is. If you find that you’re not happy with your purpose, then maybe the things you’re doing aren’t what you really want to be doing. Maybe it’s time to sit down with what you want out of life, and figure out the things YOU should be doing to make these things happen.

We all have a purpose, and without truly knowing what our purpose is and being in control of it, you are just existing and not truly living.

I HOPE THAT WILL PARTICIPATE BY LINKING UP TO A POST ON YOUR BLOG THAT YOU WRITE FOR THIS CARNIVAL THAT IS INSPIRING FOR OTHER READERS.
